Telkom Improve ICT Service in Halim Perdanakusuma Airport

Jakarta, 10 January 2014 – To success Halim Perdanakusuma airport reoperation for commercial airlines, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom) has prepared a various telecommunication facilities in the airport area. “To welcome the resumption of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Telkom has set up the telecommunications facility that will support the operational activities of the airport,” said Vice President of Public Relations Telkom, Arif Prabowo (10/1). That preparation of telecommunication facilities is expected can increase the comfort of the passengers who arrive and depart from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

To support and complete the Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Infrastructure at the airport, Telkom improve the preparation of telecommunication infrastructure, such as the addition of the BTS Telkomsel and the addition service access points (Indonesia WiFi) not less than 40 access points, so the Internet network can be accessed in all areas of the airport. “Beside as the supporting of airport, this service expected to help the passengers and the passengers courier in accessing the Internet,” said Prasabri Pesti, Executive General Manager of the Telkom West Division.

Pasabri explained that at this time, Telkom has deploy fiber optic infrastructure that connects Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. And for the convenience of mobile customers, Telkomsel has prepared 1 combat macro and 1 micro BTS. The additional infrastructure is to anticipate ‘the bump’ in traffic communications, especially during the inauguration on January 10.

“The reoperation Halim Perdanakusuma airport for a commercial flight with qualified ICT facilities would have been the need of people. Telkom fully supports this plan to ensure the implementation of qualified telecommunications services throughout the service area, “said Arif Prabowo.

Starting January 10, 2014, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport becomes a commercial airport. This was done as a step to reduce the density of passengers at Soekarno Hatta Airport.
