Jakarta, March 20, 2007 – After applying discount for months through Formula 5 Promotion Program, PT. Telekomunikasi Tbk (Telkom) finally set the price down for speedy broadband internet access charge. The new charge will be applied from April, 1st 2007. The access speed for Speedy is still 384 Kbps downstream and 64 Kbps upstream maximum as on ADSL specification.
Eddy Kurnia, Vice President of Public and Marketing Communication, said that speedy charge is decreased with regard to Telkom commitment to provide high speed internet access with lower price.
The price for Limited Home Package will be decreased from Rp 300 thousands/month to Rp 200 thousands/month and excess usage Rp 0.5 per KB. Unlimited monthly Speedy package is 63 percent decreased from Rp 2 millions to only Rp 750 thousands.
With improving Speedy access quality and reducing the tariff, Eddy believed that the Speedy Customer Based will rise significantly up to 353% from 95.000 to 335.000 customers with estimated gross revenue up to 221% in 2007.
Today, the coverage of Speedy is 22 cities in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Batam, Bandung, Semarang, Solo, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Makassar, etc. and will extend to 40 cities soon.
Time-Based Tariff
Starting from April 1st 2007, the company also launched Speedy Time-Based Tariff which is only Rp 200 thousands per 50 hours and Rp 750 per 30 minutes for excess usage. This product is predicted to have a good response from public too.
