Stage II: Speedy Tour d’Indonesia 2009. Indonesian Racers Start to Be Noticed
Tasikmalaya, November 23, 2009 – Entering Stage II Speedy Tour d’Indonesia 2009, the Indonesian racers start to show their performance. Along the route Bandung-Tasikmalaya the racer from Araya Indonesia Team, Abdullah Fatahillah, won this stage.
 
The second position occupied by “King of Mountain” Mehdi Sohrabi still unchanged. While the Russian racer, Sergey Kudentsov, joined in the Poligon Sweet Nice Team occupied the third position. The racer Ibnu Farika Rully from KCN team succeeded in achieving the fastest position and deserved to put on the Green Jersey, followed by Mehdi Sohrabi reaching the highest point for the sloping route.
 
In general classification, Nugroho Krisnanto from D.I Jogjakarta team became the fastest Indonesian racer, so he deserved to put on the Red and White Jersey. Amir Zargari from Azad University Team Iran, as predicted, has succeeded in achieving the Polka Dot Jersey as ‘King of Mountain’. The most prestigious Jersey, Yellow Jersey, was reached by the racer from Iran, Mehdi Sohrabi.
 
Abdullah Fatahillah, previously unpredicted to be a winner at the Stage II said he was satisfied and proud with the achievement he has just reached. “I hope in the next stage I am able to make the same performance,” he said.
 
Tuesday, November 24, 2009, Speedy Tour d’Indonesia will continue to the Stage III, Tasikmalaya-Purwokerto. This route is considered to be challenging. “This stage is challenging, particularly this is a new route,” said Sofian Ruzian, Executing Chief of Speedy Tour d’Indonesia 2009. In the Speedy Tour d’Indonesia 2008 last year, Stage III took the route Cirebon-Purwokerto.
 
Vice President Public and Marketing Communication Telkom, Eddy Kurnia, said as the sponsor of this great event, Telkom was also proud because this Stage 2 ran smoothly. Besides, the community welcomed the race along the route and particularly on the finish line. This showed the cycling sports will be one of the community favourite sports. 
  
“We support this cycling event, hopefully through thisSpeedy Tour d’Indonesia event, the community particularly the young generation is motivated to start perform the cycling sports,” said Eddy Kurnia. He hopes the Speedy Tour d’Indonesia may run as planned.
