The local office of state telecommunication company PT Telkom presented packages of basic commodities to 1,000 orphans on Friday evening.
The packages worth Rp30,000 each were presented to orphans after breaking the fast at the office.
Spokesman for the office Heru Widodo said the aid was part of the office`s activities held in the fasting month of Ramadhan.
On the occasion, the office also presented assistance to 10 orphanages in East Java .
The other activities included providing meals to Moslems to break the fast, organizing a course for Muslim youths on how to operate the Internet, and holding a national seminar themed the management of conflict towards creating harmonious families.
Participants of the course themed `Developing A Propagation Community in the Internet World` consisted of mosque activists and students who are active in propagating Islamic teachings.
