This exhibition was opened by State Minister of BUMN, on Wednesday (18/2), and was an agenda of PKBL Communication Forum of State Ministry of BUMN. Number of participants in the exhibition comprises the UKM from all over Indonesia under the support by the BUMN with around 415 companies and target of visitors at 50,000 persons. The products exhibited are, among others, crafts, fashions, jewelry and accessories, furniture and traditional as well as processed food and drinks.
On the exhibition under the theme “Menggapai Sukses dari Nol” with an emphasis on the continued existence of Food and Education, supporting activities like Seminar and Technical Guidance of Business, Discussion of Book (“Menggapai Sukses dari Nol”), PKBL Award, Talk Show, BUMN Social Activity, Gallery Display of Products, Traditional Arts & Music, Demo of Making of Products and Fashion Show will also be held.
The BUMN State Minister, Sofyan Djalil, said in his speech that this activity was motivated by the Government efforts and aims through the BUMN State Ministry to give opportunity to the UKM community in order to continuously develop their business through the Program of Partnership and Environment Establishment (PKBL), where in the Partnership Program, BUMN did not only provide fund in the form of either loan, rotating fund or grant but also management guidance and marketing opportunity to UKM sector. Role of this sector is undoubtedly supporting the national economic development. Growth of the UKM sector is able to continue to exist and give job opportunity for most of the community. UKM becomes an important element in the major strategy of national development in the ‘Kabinet Indonesia Bersatu’ known as triple track strategy, that is, pro-job, pro-poor, and pro-growth.
In addition, the BUMN State Minister said that through the ‘Gelar Karya PKBL BUMN 2009‘, it was expected that the UKM personnel able to be more motivated to improve their creativity in producing quality innovative products as required by the market which in turn there would be the credible and tough UKM to compete in global market.
