Function of cellular operator today is not only as voice service provider but also as DATA or internet service provider.  Telkomsel has owned dedicated products providing special services for subscribers wanting access to DATA service.

DATA service provided by cellular operators via GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) technology has started to consider as one of the solutions to solve rare infrastructure of internet in Indonesia. Utilizing cellular phone as a MODEM connected to computer as well as pocket computer via infra red has often been used by people in Indonesia.  Cellular phone (PDA) is now available in the market, even, with only cheap price.  Telkomsel, as a cellular operator, needs to make an innovation able to give facilities for their subscribers to access to GPRS service and other DATA services without reducing activity to make voice call.

Objective of  kartuHALO Data service provision is :

  • To fulfill requirement of making access of WAP and internet from mobile terminal (notebook, PDA, etc.).
  • As additional SIM Card to be used at terminal with PCMCIA, cellular phone, etc. to access Internet via GPRS.
  • By kartuHALO Data users do not need to remove SIM Card from their cellular phone when they want to make DATA service access by using other terminals other than their cellular phone.


  • Subscribers should have Regular kartuHALO, HALO Bebas Free Roaming or Free SMS.
  • To fill in the form for subscription and pay registration fee at Rp. 50.000 (fifty thousands rupiah)
  • Subscribers only allowed to have one (1) kartu HALO Data

kartuHALO Data  does not have its own billing statement, it is included in the existing one (One Billing Statement).

Payment for using product of kartuHALO Data follows the terms for the main kartu HALO as regulated in kartuHALO, that is,  by cash, credit card or auto debit.

Connection Fee for product of kartuHALO Data is Rp. 50.000 (fifty thousands rupiah) except specified otherwise.

No subscription to be paid by subscribers in utilizing product of kartuHALO Data  except specified otherwise.

kartuHALO Data is a product of kartuHALO designated for subscribers requiring DATA service access via GSM/GPRS network.

Specification of kartuHALO Data is to have access capability to DATA service with variable tariff based on the usage by subscribers.  kartuHALO Data has its own MSISDN and as additional kartuHALO to be able to use to access DATA service.

Subscribers of kartuHALO Data are those having the main kartu HALO or in other words, as additional kartuHALO already owned by the subscribers.
