In response to the future challenges, Telkom is aggressively developing telecommunications infrastructure throughout Indonesia as well as ensuring equal distribution of connectivity and access to information to all levels of society. In order to realize digitalization and provide the best digital experience for customers, Telkom has modernized its telecommunications networks using 100% fiber optic-based technology in cities and districts throughout Indonesia, including on Lombok Island as one of the main tourist destinations in Indonesia.

In Lombok, Zulhelfi said, Telkom had built 541.16 km of fiber optic backbone, 578 Telkomsel BTS, 81 thousand fiber ports for IndiHome, enterprise and government customers as well as 1,448 access points.

"At present Telkom has collaborated with the regional government by providing e-Puskesmas (community health center) in 77 places including West Lombok, Central Lombok and Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara police headquarters, WiFi at 100 points, and SIAP Online. We hope that in the future there will be more cooperation and synergy that we can forge with the government, state-owned enterprises, the private sector and the enterprise," Zulhelfi said.

Zulhelfi said that for the past few years, Telkom has been actively transforming or deploying fiber optic-based infrastructure. The program, called Modern Broadband City, has been implemented in 218 cities and in eight provinces.

"In this digital era, the 100% fiber optic infrastructure is expected to meet the community needs of quality broadband services, so that people can have access to much better digital services," he said.

The availability of quality and reliable digital infrastructure in West Nusa Tenggara, especially Lombok, is expected to be able to develop the local, regional and national economic potentials, in order to support the development of Indonesia's digital economy.
