Jakarta – The world of education continues to evolve, with the integration of technology becoming a key element in maintaining student engagement in the classroom. A 2012 study by EdTech found that video games can be highly effective learning tools, given that 91% of school-age children are already familiar with digital games. This phenomenon highlights that game-based approaches are not merely a trend, but a bridge that aligns digital-native learning styles with educational content, making knowledge transfer more effective and enjoyable.
In response, Telkom Indonesia is taking action to support the transformation of more innovative teaching methods. As part of its commitment to improving national education quality, Telkom successfully held a webinar titled "Anti-Sleep Class: Transform Learning Materials into Interactive Digital Games" on Saturday, March 7, 2026. This program was designed to provide educators with insights into transforming monotonous teaching materials into dynamic learning experiences, as well as to equip them with the technical skills to create educational games using prompt-based technology in Canva.
Conducted online via Zoom, the event was attended by 130 enthusiastic participants from various regions across Indonesia. During the session, participants were introduced to practical strategies for integrating gamification into classroom curricula. Key topics included techniques for crafting effective prompts to generate game assets, transforming learning materials into interactive quizzes, and maintaining substance while making lessons more engaging for students.
Senior General Manager of Social Responsibility at Telkom, Hery Susanto, stated, "Educators play a crucial role in shaping societal dynamics. Teachers are at the forefront of building the nation’s digital future. Through this initiative, we aim to ensure that technology becomes a creative companion for educators rather than a burden, enabling more vibrant classrooms. We hope teachers will continue to inspire students to explore knowledge in more relevant and enjoyable ways, ultimately strengthening Indonesia’s digital talent foundation from the classroom.”
This initiative is part of Telkom Indonesia’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the implementation of its Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR/TJSL) programs, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on Quality Education. Through this program, Telkom continues to enhance digital literacy among educators, fostering a more adaptive, inclusive, and future-ready education ecosystem.
