JAKARTA, April 24, 2026 – Kartini Day serves as a reminder of the vital role women play in driving national progress, including navigating the digital economic transformation. Today, women act not only as business owners but also as drivers of innovation and value creators across various sectors. Data from the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemenkomdigi) in 2025 indicate that 64.5 percent, or approximately 37 million, of MSME players in Indonesia are women.
As a means of strengthening this role, Telkom Indonesia has introduced various empowerment initiatives on Kartini Day using digital technology. Out of a total of more than 112,000 Telkom-fostered MSMEs, 73,152 are female entrepreneurs actively participating in digital-based guidance and capacity development programs. This effort aligns with the corporate culture "BISA" (Bravery, Integrity, Service Excellence, Agility) and the spirit of "Bersama Jadi Bisa," which places collaboration and the use of technology as key to increasing MSME competitiveness.
As part of the Kartini Day commemorations, Telkom provided support to improve the quality and competitiveness of female MSME products. This support includes facilitating the printing of 500,000 pieces of packaging through the Packfest platform and providing halal certification to 2,250 MSMEs. This assistance was symbolically handed over by Telkom Indonesia CEO Dian Siswarini to representatives of women-led MSMEs at the Kartini BISA Fest event on April 24, 2026. By improving packaging quality and ensuring halal compliance, MSME products are expected to be more competitive in both domestic and international markets.
The CEO of Telkom Indonesia, Dian Siswarini, emphasized the company's commitment to empowering MSMEs through digital technology. She stated, “As a technology company, Telkom has a responsibility to expand access and improve digital literacy across all levels of society. Our focus on fostering MSMEs is part of that effort. Through digitalization and standardization, we hope our fostered MSMEs not only grow independently but also create a broader economic impact for their surrounding environment.”
This program is part of the implementation of Telkom Indonesia’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL), oriented toward sustainability. This female MSME empowerment initiative also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Through the "Bersama Jadi Bisa" spirit, Telkom is committed to continuing to support Indonesian women in becoming more empowered, innovative, and independent in the digital era.
