Jakarta, April 7, 2026 – Women play a crucial role in driving the national economy. Based on data from the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemenkomdigi) in 2025, 64.5 percent, or around 37 million, of MSMEs in Indonesia are run by women. This figure confirms that women are the backbone of the economy. However, amid the rapid pace of digitalization, capacity building through technology adoption, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), has become essential for MSMEs to remain competitive and relevant.
Responding to this challenge, Telkom Indonesia presents the Kartini in Technology: Creating Copywriting, Visuals, and Videos with an AI training program. Held in April 2026, the program is designed to create more Digital Kartinis—resilient women who are not only adaptive but also capable of utilizing technology to drive business growth.
Carrying the spirit of Bersama Jadi Bisa (Together We Can), this training is part of Telkom’s efforts to provide digital literacy enhancement programs and smart digital utilization for the community. As part of Telkom’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) initiative through the Bisa PandAI program, this activity encourages the public not only to become digitally literate but also to use technology, especially AI, wisely and productively to support various aspects of life, ranging from education and social activities to community economic development.
In the context of this training, the spirit of Bisa PandAI is realized through practical skill-building to help women MSME owners use AI as a productivity tool. This includes accelerating marketing content creation, improving the quality of brand communication, and expanding market reach more effectively and efficiently.
Held in a hybrid format, the training received high enthusiasm with a total of 260 women MSME participants. The participants were equipped with skills ranging from developing strong copywriting strategies to creating attractive product visuals and producing AI-based promotional videos. Through this approach, Telkom also helps address technical barriers that MSMEs often face in developing branding and digital marketing strategies.
“Telkom Indonesia is committed to providing equal access and opportunities in technology utilization, especially for women MSME owners. The spirit of Kartini Day serves as momentum to continue encouraging women to become not only users but also creators in the digital era. With the spirit of Together We Can, we believe Indonesian women can also Bisa PandAI, meaning they are capable of mastering technology to create globally competitive creative content and improve their business competitiveness,” said Hery Susanto, Senior General Manager of Social Responsibility at Telkom Indonesia.
More than just training, this initiative is part of Telkom’s effort to strengthen an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem. By empowering women through technology, Telkom not only drives MSME growth but also broadens economic opportunities, creating a broad social impact.
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5 on Gender Equality and Goal 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, Telkom believes that when women are given access, space, and trust to grow, not only do businesses thrive, but Indonesia’s economic future also becomes stronger and more sustainable.
