JAKARTA, May 4, 2026 – The spirit of gender equality is no longer just about women's participation, but also about how women can become the main drivers of family and community economic resilience. In line with this, increasing women's participation in the national economy has become a key focus, especially for vulnerable groups who need access to skills and technology to thrive.

Based on 2025 data from the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), there are approximately 14.5 million female-led households in Indonesia. This condition highlights the importance of tangible support so that women can achieve greater competitiveness and economic independence amid current digital developments.

With the spirit of "Bersama Jadi Bisa" (Together We Can), Telkom Indonesia presents the Rona Karya Kartini program as a company commitment to empowering women through skill enhancement and the use of digital technology. This program is designed to bridge women's potential with the needs of today’s creative and digital industries.

Rona Karya Kartini specifically targets vulnerable groups, ranging from underprivileged women and survivors of violence to people with disabilities and single mothers. Through this program, Telkom aims to ensure that women have equal opportunities to grow and are not left behind in the wave of digital transformation.

The program, held on April 30, 2026, in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, included 50 female participants who received intensive training in Make-Up Artistry (MUA). Together with beauty expert Frista Dea, participants were equipped with professional makeup skills, digital content creation strategies, and personal branding to support their business and professional development.

Furthermore, participants were introduced to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology with Mira Sahid. AI technology can assist the MUA profession through skin and color analysis features, allowing the beauty services provided to be more personalized and tailored to customer needs.

Through this training, participants gained not only technical (hard) skills in makeup but also digital capabilities relevant to today's industry needs. All the training is directed toward creating new economic opportunities and sustainably improving participants' welfare.

Senior General Manager of Social Responsibility at Telkom Indonesia, Hery Susanto, emphasized the importance of utilizing technology to support women's independence.

"As a digital company, Rona Karya Kartini is not just technical skill training, but our effort to provide knowledge in makeup techniques combined with digital technology for resilient women. Telkom wants to ensure that women, especially vulnerable women, have equal competitiveness in the job market. By integrating AI into their skills, Telkom is optimistic that MUAs can open new economic opportunities that are more independent and empowered," he said.

This program is part of Telkom Indonesia's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) commitment to creating an inclusive social impact through the Bisa PandAI initiative under the Bisa Mahir program. Additionally, this program supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 10 regarding Reduced Inequalities.

Through Rona Karya Kartini, Telkom Indonesia hopes that more Indonesian women will be able to build a better, more independent, and more empowered future by leveraging their skills and digital technology.
