Jakarta – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) continues to strengthen its commitment to empowering women through mentoring and development programs for MSMEs across various regions. Through an integrated development ecosystem, including Rumah BUMN Telkom, the company aims to enhance entrepreneurs', particularly women's, capacity to grow, adapt to digital advancements, and expand their market access both nationally and internationally.

This effort is increasingly relevant as MSMEs serve as the backbone of the national economy, contributing significantly to employment and economic growth. The high participation of women in this sector highlights the importance of strengthening their capacity and market access to foster a more inclusive economy.

“As a leading digital telecommunications company, Telkom is not only focused on connectivity and technological transformation but also committed to leveraging innovation to create tangible social and environmental impact. Through this mentoring program, we hope that solutions developed by women-led MSMEs will have strong sustainability models. The actions of these resilient women represent hope in maintaining environmental balance while strengthening local economies for a better future,” said Hery Susanto, Senior General Manager of Social Responsibility at Telkom.

One example of a woman-led MSME supported by Telkom is Dini Windu Asih, owner of the culinary business Mbrebes Mili, who joined Telkom’s MSME program in January 2025. This community was born from a longing for the warmth of home-cooked meals. The name “Mbrebes Mili,” derived from Javanese, refers to tears that flow when slicing shallots, symbolizing struggle and independence among women at the community level.

As a community leader, Dini actively encourages members to join the Rumah BUMN Telkom ecosystem. Through structured mentoring programs, women entrepreneurs are equipped with comprehensive business curricula, including Go Modern, Go Digital, Go Online, and Go Global. This support not only enhances business capabilities but also builds confidence among women MSMEs to expand their markets through digital channels.

Women’s empowerment is also reflected in the initiative Tano Puan, founded by Siska Elvi Yunita, which was selected as one of the best programs in Bumi Berseru Fest 2025, an environmental innovation competition initiated by Telkom. The name Tano Puan originates from the Batak language, where “Tano” means land and “Puan” means woman, underscoring women’s role in managing and preserving the environment sustainably.

Inspired by her personal experience as a victim of peatland conflict, Siska promotes sustainable entrepreneurship by empowering women as agents of change. Through the Srikandi Purun Jaya group, women transform purun plants into high-value eco-craft products while helping preserve peatland ecosystems.

These empowerment initiatives align with Telkom’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) implementation through the GoZero – Sustainability Action by Telkom Indonesia program, particularly under the Social pillar, Empower Our People, which focuses on digitally based community empowerment.

Through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, Telkom also contributes to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5 on Gender Equality. By strengthening women’s role in MSME development, Telkom aims to foster a more inclusive economic ecosystem while delivering sustainable social and environmental impact.
