Jakarta, 15 October 2021 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) reaffirmed its commitment to improve the capability of information and communication technology human resources, by organizing a Certified Internetworking Training within the Indonesian National Police (Polri). The series of Certified Internetworking Training for Polri started on Wednesday (13/10) and was officiated by the Head of Polri's ICT Division Head, Inspector General Slamet Uliandi, Telkom Director of Enterprise & Business Service Edi Witjara, and members of the police and Telkom management
In addition to officiating the Certified Internetworking Training, on the same occasion Polri recognized Telkom for the company's contribution in supporting the police's vaccination drives and other activities so far.
Insp. Gen. Slamet Uliandi said in his remarks that Polri is intensively developing its human resources capacity in the IT sector, as mandated by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Training its human resources with IT capabilities is expected to improve the police's quality of service and eventually boost the public trust.
Edi Witjara responded by expressing gratitude for the police's trust in Telkom so far. Edi said that Polri's IT HR capacity building program is in line with Telkom's vision and mission to transform into a digital telecommunication company.
"We thank the police for your trust and appreciation to Telkom's active involvement in supporting government programs, especially related to the Covid-19 pandemic response. Telkom ensures we are ready to continuously support various Polri programs, especially those related to efforts to improve the quality of HR in the IT sector. This program is in line with Telkom's efforts to transform to become the leading digital telco in Indonesia and even the world," Edi said.
To become a leading digital telco company, Telkom is now focusing to develop its business in three main business domains, namely Digital Connectivity, Digital Platform, and Digital Services. In Digital Connectivity, Telkom is present through the installation of more than 169 thousand kilometer-long fiber optic cable networks infrastructure. It also operates more than 220 thousand BTS towers, cellular internet services that reach 99% of the population, and two national satellites that cover Southeast Asia and South Asia.
Telkom and the police have been working together often to strengthen the capacity of human resources and services in each institution by relying on the various products/services above. The ongoing IT HR training is a way for Telkom and the National Police to optimize the benefits of this collaboration.
“Various sophisticated infrastructures will not impact positively if they are not operated and managed by reliable and skilled human resources. Therefore, it is mandatory to build the human resources so that digitalization produces optimal results. You can benefit from Telkom's training to improve the competency standards of IT HR in Indonesia to an international standard. We hope this training that Telkom organized for the police's IT personnel will improve their competence, knowledge, and form ready-to-use skilled workers," Edi said.
