Telkom Takes Over Shares of Sigma Tata Sadaya and Inbreng Hyperscale Data Center

Consolidating the data center into one entity (Data Center Co.), which is directly under Telkom, is a form of the company's seriousness in managing data center assets and providing the best service for customers.

 

Jakarta, 3 January 2022 –  PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) continues to strengthen its data center (DC) business through its subsidiary, PT Sigma Tata Sadaya (STS), by investing in cash and non-cash assets in the form of assets (inbreng) land, buildings, and Hyperscale Data Center (HDC) devices. This was marked by the signing of the Deed of Acquisition of PT STS Shares & the Deed of Inbreng Land, Building and HDC Equipment that are still in the construction phase, between Telkom and STS, on 27 December 2021. The deed signing was held in a hybrid manner with strict health protocols. Those present at the venue were Telkom Finance & Risk Management Director Heri Supriadi and Director of STS Andreuw Th.AF, while those attending via video conference were Telkom Network & IT Solutions Director Herlan Wijanarko and Telkom Strategic Portfolio Director Budi Setyawan Wijaya.

Telkom Finance & Risk Management Director Heri Supriadi said that consolidating the data center into one entity (Data Center Co.), which is directly under Telkom, is a form of the company's commitment in managing data center assets and to providing the best service for customers.

Meanwhile, Telkom Strategic Portfolio Director Budi Setyawan Wijaya said in a previous occasion that this corporate action is one of the important steps in the company's transformation. TelkomGroup expects this step will enable the company to focus more on improving the capabilities and business value of the data center that is more optimal in the future. "The data center business is a business required to support the development of the digital economy and e-commerce, which are projected to continue to expand, so we believe the need for data centers will continue to record positive growth," Budi said.

Meanwhile, Telkom Network & IT Solutions Director Herlan Wijanarko said that currently STS is ready to serve as a TelkomGroup's Data Center Co. entity. through HDC assets as its main capital to attract prospective customers. With a total HDC capacity of 75MW being built in phases, in the future it will also be consolidated with all data centers in the TelkomGroup and it is expected to reach the market massively with the support of TelkomGroup's strongest triple homing fiber optic network. 

Following this transaction, STS officially became a subsidiary directly under Telkom (direct subsidiary) with the capacity and ability to serve a wider range of customers. STS, which aspires to be a New DC Company from TelkomGroup, is led by Andreuw Th.AF who has long experience in the data center industry with international standards at Telin Singapore. He will emulate his success in building a Telin-3 Data Center with Tier-III and Tier-IV ready standards in Jurong, Singapore, and leading Telin Singapore in Indonesia. This is one of the steps taken by TelkomGroup through STS to provide the best value for stakeholders, as well as to establish itself as the preferred digital telco company to advance the community.
