Jakarta, June 5, 2026 – In commemoration of World Environment Day, TelkomGroup, together with PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (Mitratel), held an environmental conservation initiative through coral reef transplantation on Pramuka Island, Seribu Islands, Jakarta. This activity is part of the efforts to support the recovery of marine ecosystems while raising awareness about the importance of maintaining the sustainability of Indonesia's coastal resources.

Coral reefs are among the most critical marine ecosystems, serving as habitats for diverse marine life, natural protectors of coastlines against erosion, and pillars of the economic activities of coastal communities through fisheries and tourism. However, climate change, pollution, and unsustainable human activities continue to threaten the sustainability of these ecosystems.

As a tangible contribution to environmental conservation, TelkomGroup and Mitratel, along with various stakeholders, planted 2,000 coral fragments and 100 coral restoration media in the waters of Pramuka Island. The event involved more than 30 participants, consisting of representatives from TelkomGroup, Mitratel, environmental communities, local government, and local residents.

Senior General Manager of Social Responsibility at Telkom Indonesia, Hery Susanto, stated that successfully preserving the environment requires collaboration and the continuous involvement of various parties.

"Through the momentum of World Environment Day, we want to emphasize that protecting marine conservation is a shared responsibility. Coral reefs play a vital role in maintaining ecosystem balance and supporting the lives of coastal communities. Therefore, through this collaboration with Mitratel and various stakeholders, we hope this action can provide long-term benefits for the environment while encouraging more parties to contribute to protecting Indonesia's marine ecosystem," said Hery.

In addition to the coral transplantation activity, participants received education on the condition of marine ecosystems, the benefits of coral reefs for coastal communities, and the various challenges facing Indonesia's marine areas due to climate change and environmental degradation.

This activity is part of "BISA Biru" (Blue BISA), a TelkomGroup environmental initiative focused on ecosystem conservation and strengthening environmental resilience through various sustainability programs. Through this coral reef restoration initiative, TelkomGroup and Mitratel aim to support the recovery of marine habitats while raising collective awareness of the importance of protecting coastal ecosystems as a life-support system for communities and biodiversity.

For coastal communities, coral reefs not only function as a home for diverse marine species but also serve as the foundation for economic and environmental resilience. Therefore, the restoration efforts are expected to provide long-term benefits for ecosystem sustainability while supporting the welfare of communities dependent on marine resources.

In line with the spirit of "Bersama Jadi Bisa" (Together We Can), TelkomGroup believes that environmental challenges can only be overcome through strong collaboration between corporations, the government, communities, and the public. Through this synergy, environmental conservation efforts do not stop at a single event, but become a sustainable movement to safeguard Indonesia's natural heritage for future generations.

Through consistent collaboration and concrete actions, TelkomGroup hopes to continue contributing to the preservation of Indonesia's marine wealth, strengthening coastal ecosystem resilience, and supporting the creation of a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.
