Malaysia — Telkom Indonesia’s commitment to sustainability and community empowerment has once again earned recognition at the regional level. After winning 1st Place in the Relations to Local Communities category at the 2025 Lestari Awards, Telkom advanced to the Asia-level competition through the Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025. This event evaluates corporate sustainability initiatives across Southeast Asia, where attention to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles continues to show a positive upward trend. A global WTW study (2024) reports that 77% of companies in the Asia-Pacific region have integrated ESG metrics into executive incentives, increasing by 14 percentage points from the previous year—signaling that sustainability has become an essential part of regional business strategies.
The Lestari Awards is a national recognition platform for Sustainability and CSR program management, organized by Kompas Gramedia with EY as the assessment partner. Through the DigiUp program, Telkom won 1st Place in the Relations to Local Communities category, earning the opportunity to compete at the Asia level. At the Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025, Telkom was evaluated by expert panels from the Global Business Council for Sustainable Development, EY, and the International Society for Sustainability Professionals, competing against top contenders from various countries. In this competition, Telkom won in the Relations to Local Communities category.
This achievement is driven by the significant impact of DigiUp, an initiative designed to improve digital competencies among senior high school and vocational students across Indonesia. The program combines industry-standard training, national competency certification, and project-based learning. Over the past three years, DigiUp has reached 16,197 participants, certified 2,783 graduates, and supported 993 alumni in entering the workforce, including those from frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged regions (3T). Evaluation results also show a Social Return on Investment (SROI) of 1 : 2.11. This means every rupiah invested by Telkom in DigiUp generates more than two rupiah in social value for communities. The figure reflects not only efficient resource utilization but also the depth of the program’s impact—from improving digital skills and creating new employment opportunities to strengthening local economic growth. The high SROI confirms that DigiUp delivers measurable, sustainable benefits and demonstrates Telkom’s strong Creating Shared Value (CSV) approach in linking business needs with social advancement while reinforcing Indonesia’s digital talent ecosystem.

“This award is not only a form of appreciation but also recognition that our efforts in delivering measurable social impact are moving in the right direction. DigiUp was designed to address real community needs while strengthening Indonesia’s digital talent ecosystem. We ensure that digital transformation does not stop at technological innovation but truly reaches communities, expands access to opportunities, and builds independence. Moving forward, Telkom will continue expanding partnerships and cross-sector collaborations to ensure our social impact becomes more inclusive, sustainable, and relevant for young people across Indonesia,” said Hery Susanto, Senior General Manager of Social Responsibility at Telkom Indonesia.
As part of Telkom’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) pillar, DigiUp contributes to achieving the SDGs, particularly in quality education, employment opportunities, and youth digital talent development. Through this accomplishment, Telkom reaffirms its role as a digital company that focuses not only on technological innovation but also on inclusive, sustainable social contributions aligned with ESG principles.
