Carrying a strong mission to address the clean water crisis in coastal and island areas, the Satu Banten community (Save and Transform the Universe) has demonstrated its capability on a national stage. Through its innovation, the JAWARA SYSTEM, an ultrafiltration-based rainwater harvesting technology, the youth-driven community from Banten successfully advanced to the pitching stage of Bumi Berseru Fest (BBF) 2025, initiated by Telkom Indonesia, held on March 2–3, 2026.
Satu Banten’s journey to the pitching stage was not without challenges. With a focus on developing environmentally conscious youth, they selected Pulau Panjang as their primary implementation site. There, the team faced logistical constraints and extreme weather conditions during installation. However, these challenges strengthened the robustness of their solution. Today, one unit of the JAWARA SYSTEM stands operational at the Pulau Panjang village health post (POSKESDES), integrating filtration, UV sterilization, and solar panels, capable of producing up to 100 liters of safe drinking water daily for local residents and healthcare workers.
This successful field implementation became a strong foundation when presenting before judges and mentors. Reflecting on this milestone, Tubagus Febrian Fajar Purnama, President Director of Satu Banten, expressed his pride:
"Reaching the pitching stage was both an honor and a moment of gratitude, especially as a regional community like Satu Banten. During the pitch, we focused on clearly communicating the clean-water challenges in Pulau Panjang and the tangible impact of the JAWARA SYSTEM. This opportunity also allowed us to gain valuable feedback from mentors and judges to further improve and sustain the program in the future."
For Satu Banten, BBF 2025 is not merely a competition, but a valuable learning laboratory. Through expert mentorship, they refined the JAWARA SYSTEM, which now meets national drinking water standards under Indonesia’s Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. This program demonstrates how youth innovation, combined with strategic support from Telkom Indonesia, can generate measurable and sustainable social impact.
Looking ahead, Satu Banten aims to replicate this innovation across other coastal regions facing similar challenges. They remain committed to collaborating with communities and stakeholders to deliver more environmental solutions that address fundamental human needs.
Bumi Berseru Fest 2025 continues to encourage the public to develop impactful environmental innovations through four main categories, including Green Technology and Sustainable Innovation. Funding support amounting to hundreds of millions of rupiah is provided to ensure that promising ideas like Satu Banten’s can continue to grow. More information is available at bumiberserufest.id.
