Jakarta, April 20, 2026 – Women hold a strategic role as economic drivers and catalysts for resilient, inclusive business ecosystems. This contribution is reflected in the dominance of women in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. Based on 2024 data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), 64.5 percent, or approximately 37 million, of MSMEs in Indonesia are managed by women.

In commemoration of Kartini Day, Telkom is hosting the Kartini BISA Fest from April 20–24, 2026, at the Telkom Hub, South Jakarta. This initiative embodies the company’s "BISA" culture, representing the capability and competitiveness of women as drivers of the nation’s economy. This spirit aligns with R.A. Kartini’s philosophy of advocating for equal access to education and opportunities for women. In today's digital era, the phrase "Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang" (Out of Darkness Comes Light) is interpreted not only as freedom of thought but also as the courage for women to play an active role in digital spaces, leverage technology, and create new opportunities that impact both themselves and the wider community.

Through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, Telkom consistently provides guidance and assistance to MSMEs across Indonesia. Currently, about 65% of Telkom's fostered MSMEs are women actively participating in various capacity-building programs. During the Kartini BISA Fest, Telkom presents an inclusive digital ecosystem through various activities, ranging from a culinary bazaar featuring 40 MSMEs to cybersecurity seminars on women’s data protection attended by over 350 participants, to training on using AI to support efficient creative content creation.

As a concrete commitment to the growth of female entrepreneurs, Telkom provides strategic support to 2,250 MSMEs and distributes 500,000 pieces of packaging printing assistance through the Packfest program. This initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness of female MSME products, particularly in digital marketing. This support also reaches MSMEs with disabilities as part of an effort to provide equal access to an inclusive digital ecosystem, ensuring the "BISA Kreatif" spirit can be felt by all levels of society.

Telkom CEO Dian Siswarini attended and supported this women's empowerment initiative. She stated, “The four-day Kartini BISA Fest celebration is extraordinary because it involves not only women but also men playing an active role. Kartini Day serves as a reminder for all of us to take Kartini’s values and adapt them to today’s digital life. Therefore, it is important for us to continue learning, identifying, and utilizing technology to create a broader impact”.

As a modern Kartini in the digital age, the CEO also personally handed over halal certification assistance and packaging grants to representatives of the fostered MSMEs. This handover symbolizes a real push for Indonesian women to continue developing their capacity, dare to take opportunities, and maximize their potential in facing the challenges and opportunities of the digital era.

More than just a celebration, Kartini BISA Fest is a tangible implementation of Telkom Indonesia’s TJSL program, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Point 5 (Gender Equality) and Point 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Telkom believes that by strengthening an inclusive digital ecosystem, the company not only builds a sustainable business but also helps weave a more resilient, inclusive, and globally competitive future for Indonesia’s economy through the role of women.
