WEST KALIMANTAN, July 20, 2026 – Digital transformation in the education sector continues to grow rapidly, driving the need for equitable technology access across Indonesia. Based on data from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), for the 2025/2026 academic year, the availability of computers for learning activities in West Kalimantan Province remains relatively limited, standing at 9.45 percent for elementary schools (SD), 34.55 percent for junior high schools (SMP), 37.74 percent for senior high schools (SMA), 55.36 percent for vocational schools (SMK), and 17.86 percent for special schools (SLB). On the other hand, the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for educational and learning needs increased significantly to 43.98 percent in 2026, compared to 21.84 percent previously. This condition underscores the importance of strengthening digital infrastructure accompanied by the enhancement of educators' competencies so that educational transformation can take place more equitably.

In the momentum of its 61st anniversary, the spirit of "Bersama Telkom Jadi Bisa" continues to be realized through various initiatives that deliver tangible impacts for the community. This commitment is manifested through the implementation of the BISA PandAI pillar and the BISA Vokasi program as part of Telkom’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) initiatives. Through these initiatives, Telkom provides support in the form of digital infrastructure reinforcement alongside AI utilization training for teachers to accelerate the establishment of an innovative, inclusive, and competitive educational ecosystem in various regions.

The implementation was carried out through the distribution of Application, Network, and Device (AND) assistance as well as intensive training for educators in Sambas Regency on July 20, 2026, and Mempawah Regency on July 22, 2026. The symbolic handover of assistance took place at the respective regent offices of each region. The support provided includes learning devices equipped with internet access and Telkom’s Pijar Sekolah platform, as well as AI utilization training designed to enhance teachers' competencies in delivering more effective, adaptive teaching-learning processes that are relevant to technological developments.

Through the strengthening of technology access, enhancement of educators' competencies, and cross-sector collaboration, Telkom continues to reinforce its contribution to supporting a more inclusive and sustainable national education transformation. These efforts also contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the equitable distribution of educational access and improvement of learning quality, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between Telkom, local governments, and educational institutions in accelerating digital transformation in the education sector.
