Jakarta, April 25, 2026 – Environmental conditions at the village level in Indonesia face increasingly significant challenges. Based on 2025 data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), 13.4% of the total 84,139 villages have experienced at least one type of environmental pollution. This underscores the urgency of implementing comprehensive and collaborative mitigation measures, given the direct impact on community quality of life, including access to clean water and health care.
In response, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) held the Bumi Berseru Fest 2025 as part of its commitment to driving sustainability-driven innovation. This program is a competition and collaboration platform aimed at accelerating the development of environmental solutions by local communities across Indonesia.
Public enthusiasm was reflected in over 2,200 applicants. Through a gradual selection process, 83 teams were chosen for online pitching, and eventually, the 47 best teams received funding to enter the implementation phase. Over three months, these semi-finalists implemented their programs directly within communities, supported by intensive mentoring to ensure effective, measurable impact.
The Awarding Day on April 25, 2026, marked the program's conclusion and the announcement of the "Best of the Best." Winners were recognized across several categories: Green Technology (Carbon Circle Community, Satu Banten), Action for Earth (covering Water and Soil sub-categories), and Eco-Product Innovation (covering Recycling, Lifestyle, and Innovative Materials).
Hery Susanto, Senior General Manager of Social Responsibility at Telkom, stated that Bumi Berseru Fest embodies Telkom's commitment to leveraging technology to achieve sustainable environmental impact. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goals 12, 13, and 17, focusing on responsible production, climate action, and partnerships.
