KUPANG, October 26, 2026 – Understanding and developing technology is a vital foundation for the younger generation to navigate the evolving workforce and meet future challenges. To that end, access to practical digital learning must expand so students become more than just technology users—they become capable of creating innovations that benefit their communities.

Supporting this cause, TelkomGroup—through its BISA PandAI Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program—organized the 2026 NTT IoT Bootcamp & Challenge in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on October 13–17, 2026. Driven by the spirit of Bersama Jadi Bisa, the program equipped students and teachers with technological skills and entrepreneurial insights to foster creative, adaptive, and innovative digital talent.

A total of 100 selected participants, comprising 75 students and 25 teachers from 25 high schools and vocational schools across nine regencies in NTT, completed an intensive five-day training program. The event served as an interactive learning hub where participants explored, experimented with, and applied technologies increasingly relevant to modern education and community needs.

The initiative aligns with national directions to strengthen digital education in Indonesia. Starting in the 2025/2026 academic year, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) introduced coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as elective subjects in primary and secondary education. This context underscores the urgency of providing digital skills training so students and educators are fully prepared for technological advancements.

Moving beyond purely theoretical instruction, the NTT IoT Bootcamp & Challenge prioritized a hands-on approach. Participants received training in the Internet of Things (IoT), AI, robotics, and automation, while being encouraged to translate technical knowledge into practical concepts for everyday applications.

Bringing students and teachers together in a single program created a collaborative learning ecosystem. Students were given room to explore ideas and build new competencies, while teachers gained insights to enrich their classroom instruction.

This skill-building is designed to extend beyond the event itself. The knowledge and experience gained during the bootcamp serve as a springboard for participants to continue experimenting, developing local solutions tailored to regional potential, and sharing an innovative spirit within their schools and communities.

EVP TR3, GM Nusra, the Regent of Kupang, the Head of the NTT Provincial Education Office, and key regional stakeholders attended the opening ceremony on October 13, 2026. Their presence highlights the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in expanding access to digital learning and preparing regional youth to participate in the tech-driven economy.

Hery Susanto, Senior General Manager of Social Responsibility at Telkom Indonesia, emphasized that cultivating digital talent requires experiential learning where participants apply what they learn in real-time.

“As a digital enterprise, TelkomGroup—through BISA PandAI—aims to open doors for students and teachers to go beyond observing technological trends, enabling them to apply these tools toward ideas that address local needs. The NTT IoT Bootcamp & Challenge provides a shared learning platform to build technical skills, creativity, and entrepreneurial vision. We hope this experience instills confidence in participants to keep innovating and share their learnings back in their school environments,” Hery stated.

The NTT IoT Bootcamp & Challenge 2026 execution is part of TelkomGroup’s commitment to expanding digital talent development through broader learning access, educator capacity building, and ecosystem partnerships. Through BISA PandAI, TelkomGroup continues to deliver relevant learning opportunities to ensure students and teachers stay ahead of modern demands.

In line with the Bersama Jadi Bisa vision, nurturing digital talent in NTT is a starting point for developing young innovators who can unlock regional potential through technology. This initiative directly supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education.

Ultimately, shaping Indonesia’s digital future is not solely about introducing technology—it is about ensuring young people and educators have the opportunity to master, advance, and utilize it. From NTT, TelkomGroup continues to champion continuous learning, bold innovation, and collective positive impact.
